Hello everyone,

A bit early, but the venue and date have been set, so if you are interested put it on your calendar. We have changed marinas for this event. It will be held at the Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda Florida. The dates are February 9, 10 & 11, 2018. Further details to follow. Anyone wishing to be on the e-mail list to hold a spot and get information & updates may contact Jessica Rizzo - Jessa35@aol.com.

Mike Rizzo

We live and keep our Cutwater at Burnt Store Marina so we will be there. Let us know how we can help.

Hello Everyone!

If you are on our e-mail list you will receive an e-mail today with a registration form. As stated in the e-mail, we have spots for 30 boats together. There may be some spots available throughout the marina if we go over 30 and availability will be addressed once we reach the 30 count. So, the earlier you get your registration in the better to ensure your slip.
Once we have the agenda formalized it will be distributed.
If you have not notified Jess - jessa35@aol.com you should do so immediately so you get the registration form.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Sincerely,

Mike & Jess Rizzo

Having never been to one of these what happens at this type of event? What does the registration fee cover?

First night is a pot luck dinner with rum punch drinks provided and a presentation. Next day has several seminars some of which are by Garmin, Global marine and some attendees. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included for Saturday. There are some raffles and a blind man dingy race. Sunday is usually a coast guard safety inspection, a boat crawl and then a pizza dinner also part of the fee. During the event, hopefully Ranger sends someone, we have "fix my boat" to help work out the kinks some attendees may be having. Monday departure and then we usually anchor out for the night at Cayo Costa State Park. Once the agenda is formalized it will be distributed to all attendees. The fee also absorbs the cost for all the sundries required as well as swag bags.

We can't wait.. registration was mailed yesterday!

Thanks Mike and Jess for organizing the Florida event, Lisa and I are excited to be attending. Check is in the mail.

Jess we have filled it out and are posting it today. Looking forward to our 1st gathering and meeting a bunch of "Tnuts".

Jess, the check is in the mail! looking forward to the rendezvous. Thanks to you and Mike for organizing the event.

Not having been to Burnt Store Marina, can anyone tell me if riding a bicycle in the area is a safe thing to do? Any good places nearby to explore?

What a marina name! I'm sure there's a story behind that.

Burnt Store is bicycle friendly. It is a large community with pools, etc.
As for exploring, by bicycle I would not think so. But a quick Uber ride to Punta Gorda, would be interesting.

Also a visit to Cayo Costa by boat, or Boca Grande also by boat or car. Riding bicycle at both would be in order.

Many boating destinations near there.

We are full at the marina. It is unfortunate, but we had to turn some away. Now we need to hope for good weather. Edgewater Yacht Sales and Global Marine will also be in attendance. Garmin will be there and Ranger is sending a representative as well. It will be three days of camaraderie, learning and fun. Jess will be contacting those who's registration was received and was not able to be booked.

Mike: You've done another great job in arranging the meeting. I hope with fingers crossed for you to have good weather. Having dealers, vendors and RT in attendance is a real benefit. Have a good meeting. 🙂

Maybe the RT person will arrive with a handful of boat owner manuals, given Andrew's goal is to have them (at least the R-23 and R-27 outboard models) ready for Seattle Boat Show in JJanuary 27, 2018. 😱 😉

Thank you Mike and Jess for organizing this event. With the marina being sold out can you tell those that could not get in by boat or that might want to come by land if there are any openings if you don't need a marina slip?

Mr. Baz,

You have already delivered the jab. No need to go in for the knock out punch! You have been with your boat for two months without a manual. There are some that haven't had one for three years.

With that being said, maybe I will work on the 23 manual first. 😀

Oh, I almost got off topic here. Mike and Jess, THANK YOU very much for putting this together. Look forward to hearing about all the fun events!

Thanks again,

Andrew

I promise not to flog you any more.

Jim,

Anyone who has not made the cut was given the alternative to attend without a boat. The closest marinas are about 6 miles away by boat and a bit further by motor vehicle. There is always the Uber alternative to go back and forth or a volunteer with a vehicle that may do a shuttle, but that will have to be organized as things develop. Unfortunately as this gets bigger facilities being able to accommodate us gets scarce, especially in high season. And then add all the marinas hit further south by the hurricane and it adds pressure this year on the marinas more north.

My wife and I are interested in the R27 and R29 - obviously we are boatless, but going to a Rendezvous would be very informative for us. Is there a way for us to attend ? Thanks, Mark & Jane

Send Jess an e-mail ( jessa35@aol.com) and she will send you a registration form. Let her know in your e-mail that you will be without a boat. There are hotels within commuting distance. I suggest making room reservations soon since it is in season.
