The 2019 Great Lakes Area Rendezvous is coming back to beautiful Charlevoix, Michigan, only 9 short months from now. The 2019 events dates will be 3 days during the week of August 5th., I’ll be firming the exact 3 days in the next couple of weeks but wanted to get the information out to all interested parties. There will be details to follow regarding registration, cruising before and or after the event. Fluid Motion has indicated they’ll send a representative, Reed Yacht Sales of Michigan n Wisconsin will be a sponsor so things are starting to shape up. If you’ve been to Charlevoix you know what a boaters paradise it is and if you have not you’re in for a special treat. Morning Jim,
Thanks for the update. Lisa and I will be attending. Charlevoix was the first time we attended a Tug Rendezvous and three things have stuck with us. 1. Wish we had grown up their, what a wonderful town. 2. Had a great time with all the Ranger tug owners even though we came by land. 3. We vowed to come back after we purchased a tug and spend more time exploring by boat.

We're looking forward to this years Rendezvous and spending weeks in the area. Thanks in advance for all of your efforts in making these events a great time.

Hi Jim,
Suzy and I would like to get on your 2019 Rendezvous list. We had purchased a new RT31 CB this year and took possession this past May. We took several weekend trips to get our feet wet and get out any possible kinks. All went well and we are excited to try a longer voyage to Charlevoix. Thanks for all you do.

Are Cutwater owners invited? If so, we’d be very interested!
 
Ken: absolutely all Cutwater and Ranger Tug owners are invited. As things come together I’ll be making updates posts on this thread and although 9 months and a long winter are ahead of us this gives all those interested something to plan for on the boating front.

Regina and will definitely be attending from our home port of Sturgeon Bay, WI. We will be attending in our Cotwater 30 S
 
Hi Jim, is there trailer truck storage near the event site? Probably for two to three months.
 
Irish Boats has an open area next to there facility for storage for your truck n trailer. I’d suggest calling them to discuss. The City boat launch ramp is conveniently right adjacent to there buildings. You could also call Bergman Marine, just up the street and ramp about 3/4 mile for storage.

Anita and I will likely attend again in 2019 with Audrey Rose. We will probably launch in Elk Rapids like we usually do in that area. I think we will do a side trip before or after to Beaver Island and or Mackinaw.
 
Thanks for all the early interest. Todd, you should know that Aug 2-4 in Elk Rapids is there annual Harbor Days Festival therefore it may be rather difficult for launching, dockage and storage that weekend in Elk Rapids. Before those dates should be easy enough thou.

Thanks everyone for the early interest. One of the reasons we start planning so early has to do with available dock space. I’ve secured 20 slips for August 7-9 and for the Rendezvous dates we’ll all settle up with the marina upon arrival. However, and this is important, if you plan on arriving early or might want to stay after you’ll need to make those reservation days separately thru the Michigan DNR. The first time this can be done is 6 months from the dates you are wanting to reserve, which will be in February. So if you plan on arriving early or staying on after you’ll need to go to http://www.midnrreservations.com in February, go to harbors and the Charlevoix City Marina and make JUST the reservations you want for before or after Aug 7-9.

I’m based out of Petoskey and saw Kismet there this summer, didn’t get a chance to visit I think you might have run over just for lunch.

Re the 2019 Rendezvous in Charlevoix: This is our favorite port (36 years in a row). We would like to be informed. Planned on being there in August.
