Subject: 2019 R29 CB's cockpit heating via Webasto heater?
On my 2019 R29 CB NW Edition the Webasto diesel heater provides three outlets for its heated air; one large diameter vent in fwd stateroom that is extremely effective, one at base of the Nav seating area, and one in the cockpit to one side of the cockpit's refrigerator.
As summer has drawn to a close the cooler weather in the PNW is about to descend.
I tend to cruise about all year long and will at times entertain on the boat, and especially using the cockpit area.
I have a full cockpit enclosure that I typically have erected during the cooler periods of the year.
My question: If I'm entertaining folk in the cockpit with the enclosure fully installed and wish to keep the cockpit area cosy, will closing off the fwd stateroom vent and the main cabin vent while having just the cockpit vent open cause any issues with the Webasto heater ? I ask this as I'm always told by house heating experts that closing off vents is not a good thing to do for increasing heated air to a specific areas in the house. I'm unsure if this advice is related to damaging/burdening the house furnace or for some other reason. So, will my Webasto heater misbehave or be burdened in such a way to cause it problems?
Thanks for any advice. 🙂
