I have my seasonal short haul scheduled for my 2019 R29 CB LE for tomorrow in Annapolis, MD. Does anyone have a shopping list for zincs that I should be prepared to replace?

Hi all - I just received a reply from my local dealer and thought I'd share:
1 x ZHC-5 transom anode
1 x Size E prop nut anode
2 x R3 rudder anodes
2 x SM31180A thruster anode for 125mm tunnel sidepower thruster

My 2018 R29S uses size F for a prop zinc. I am not sure if Daviddri is different, or possibly a Typo....

Thanks!!

Rocky

Another thing to consider, the factory uses zinc anodes. Aluminum should work better and last longer in the brackish water of the Chesapeake.

on the tug nuts home page on the left hand side you’ll see spare parts listings by model. For the 29S, the prop zinc is listed as “F” not “E”.

Does anyone know what Yamaha uses for internal and external anodes?

Yamaha, suzuki, evinrude, Mercrury....... All use what they describe as a blend of high-quality alloys specifically designed to help protect your outboard. Anode manufactures will sell replacement anodes of any flavor. Be careful what you choose. CMP global manufactures most OEM anodes they also sell a brand Martyr anodes. The OEM have switched from Zinc to Aluminum because of the added protection. If you are strictly using the boat in fresh water (clean unpolluted) fresh water Magnesium will give better protection than the Aluminum. I personally would use Aluminum it will give protection in any type water. The best way to know what material is used by the manufacture remove it,( if factory install) look at it and feel the weight. There is a significant difference in the weight of the Aluminum alloy and Zinc. The aluminum can be 3 times lighter and provide better protection better longevity in comparison to the zinc anode. My opinion use aluminum.
