n my earlier post I mistakenly asked about the CO detector super sensitivity In my 2019 Ranger Tug R-27 Outboard, and the great responses I got were about the CO alarm in the fore cabin v berth bulkhead.

But I am having a problem with the Propane Fume Detection device. The alarm is sounding even when the engine is off and I am taking fuel is with the electronic propane valve/fume detector unit mounted in the wooden cabinet facing between the oven and the back door frame—please see the photos.

This is the unit that sounds a repetitive loud beeping noise when idling or taxiing at slow speeds .

The valve is working fine and the electronic valve opens and the galley stove and oven work perfectly. The soft button press activates the unit and it goes through a check cycle of lights and if safe it opens the line to the propane tank (with manual valve on the tank open) and allows the propane to flow through the valve to the stove and oven.

I looked up this propane fume detector valve control unit on the parts list and it appears to have a sensor positioned at “a place of interest” as stated in the manual. I am trying to solve the alarm sensitivity problem with fumes from my engine and even from the gasoline fumes.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this problem? Thank you Tug folks for your help!
