I will be cruising the North Channel of Lake Huron from July to September 2022 with our 21EC “Wanderer”. This is an opportunity for those new to the area to experience the best fresh water cruising in the world! Little Current Ontario would be the launch location. We typically anchor out for 7 to 10 days returning to Little Current for supplies etc. If there are other ranger tugs interested in cruising the area and visiting the many secluded anchorages with us pass along your contact info. And we will plan a suitable date.
All the best to everyone as you plan for next summer. Here in the north the water will start to harden up real soon!

John, I'm not sure If we will make it to the north channel in 22 but for sure in 23. We may decide to go backwards on the Loop and be there in 22. Unfortunately we purchased our new to us boat to late this year for me to get it ready to cruise to Florida so it is now on the hard in Illinois. I plan to launch in the early summer of 22. We have to choose repeating the trip we did in the Cutwater, Lake Michigan to Florida (River Loop segment ) or Lake Michigan to Florida VIA East coast. If we did that we would head up to North Channel, Georgian Bay ( backward loop to Florida). The only reason I am hesitant to doing that is I want to spend a couple of months in that area. It is in my opinion the best cruising grounds I have ever been at. The added bonus is it is FRESH WATER! PRISTINE FRESH WATER! We would love to join you but we will not be in a Ranger Tug! My bucket list item is to spend a few summers in the North Channel and winters in South Florida and the Bahamas for a few years. My next Bucket list Item is to spend a summer in the PNW and a trip to Alaska. We still have to finish the Loop! We better get going

Come along regardless of what boat you have!

I will also be more likely to be in the North Channel in 2023. A couple of items: 1) If you are not already a member, join the Great Lakes Cruising Club. Their harbor reports are the best source of information about North Channel anchorages and harbors. 2: Consider docking at the Duncan Bay Boat Club in Cheboygan Mi. DB is chock full of boaters who spend most of each season in the North Channel then winter in Florida. Typically they drive up, put their boats in the water, provision while at their dock, than take off not to return until August. Go to the boaters lounge at about 7:00 am to 9:00 am and join in the coffee clutch. You'll find a deep depth of knowledge about the North Channel.

Thanks for the invitation. I have cruised in the north Channel on 3 occasions on my previous boat a Nonsuch 30 Cat Rig sailboat. I would like to experience the North Channel again but this time on my Ranger 27. As we get closer to our sailing season I will stay tuned to your float plan.

All the best,
Ken
