Assuming all factory settings, does anyone know how long it takes to bring the hot water tank to full temperature via a) engine coolant assuming engine at operating temp or b) shore power, from “ambient or room temperature. Asking specially about R-29 setup. Thanks in advance. Bonus question: assuming no consumption and thus mixing in cold water, how long will the tank have “warmish” water?

It takes minimum one hour on engine coolant heat, preferably two to get it nice and hot. One hour give or take a little for electric on shore power, depending on how cold it is.

To the question of how long it stays warm ... of course it depends but we always estimated 2 days. Meaning, if we went to an anchorage and used hot water only to wash hands and clean up, there would be plenty remaining after 2 nights to take a reasonably warm shower.

Agreed with Dave on the time to heat up, too.
