Hi Tugnuts,

Roche Harbor and DockWa have been working to improve their reservation system for group events. It sounds like they're getting close to a solution. As soon as that is ironed out, we'll get the registration page up and share the link here on tugnuts.

In the meantime, save the dates! September 7-10, 2023. Roche Harbor is once again offering free moorage on Wednesday the 6th when you pay for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights!

More details soon.

Sam

Looking forward to it!!

We're excited to go to our first Rendezvous, including my daughter, who gets to miss a day of elementary school 😀

Also, all rooms are booked for Sept 8th, if you want to stretch out beyond your boat.

Where do you sign up to go to the Rendezvous at Roche Harbor?

I'm going to finally make one this year. Keep me posted. And I'm going to win the prize for farthest traveled to get to the event. Coming from Cape Coral, FL. See you guys in the fall.

Hi Sam

Any update on the program for this year? We have attended a couple of Rendezvous in the past and really enjoyed them. It has been great to meet up with other TugNutters and share stories, check out mods etc..

We've also enjoyed the talks and presentations. Learned a lot. Of course, the models have changed and so we don't expect any more talks on Volvo d3 diesels but will Volvo reps be attending and available for consultation?

We understood no Techs on boats, including the Garmin guys, during rampant COIVID. Has that changed?

What are the other presentations etc.? Anything new?

How about meals? The highlights of all the rendexvous has been the get togethers under the tent. The food has been great and another chance to meet fellow TugNuts. Was last year just another COVID response? Without the meals The Rendezvous offers a challenge to Canadians who can't bring many food items over the border and prepare main meals. That leaves the pricey Company Store as the source of provisions. Add on the slip fees and account for the exchange rate and it starts to add up during tight times.

Many thanks

Chimo, we hope you’ll come back down and have fun with us again this year. The Volvo team should be on site again. Same with Yamaha and Garmin. I’ll be able to confirm all of that shortly.

There will be a mix of new speakers/seminars and repeats from the past as we always have a lot of new boat owners joining us who can benefit from some of the core presentations.

Our customer service team will be at the event to consult, answer questions, and have fun with everyone but they will not be working on boats during the event.

We made the decision last year to refocus the rendezvous around fun and community instead of working on boats. Our dealers will also be on hand to answer questions and consult. If there is something specific you'd like help with before the event, we’re happy to work with you or your dealer to get it ironed out so everyone can enjoy the activities and events planned for the weekend.

thanks!

Sam

Queen Bee II just registered and will make our first run to the rendezvous. Looking forward to engaging and meeting all. Mark and Anne-Marie.

I signed up, I really wanted to go since I haven't had a chance to before. However, I am a bit disappointed about the time that was selected. The date is literally the first day of school around here. It would be better if Fluid Motion just scheduled a week earlier so that people with kids can attend.

I am REALLY excited about this. I'll have owned my boat for a year by then. I've already cruised about 3,000 miles and put 420 hours on the engine.

Sadly, I won't be able to cruise to the event since my boat is currently on the Great Loop at Chesapeake Bay, where it will be spending the summer on the hard so I can go home and work for fuel and marina money. If anyone has space in their cave for a fellow Tugnut, I'll start flexing my knees now.

Also, a suggestion for Sam? I would pay money on top of the registration fee to attend a hands on session with the Volvo guys showing us how to do inspections on a Penta D4. Maybe make extra sessions? Please?

Just registered. Should be a great Rendezvous we are planning on going up a day early and staying at our friends dock in Reid Harbor on the 5th.

Hi Maria, I'll pass this feedback on to Volvo Penta. That would be great. The schedule is tight during that event as you know, especially in the learning center. The seminars are stacked all weekend. Maybe the VP team has a creative idea how to help, I'll check.

thanks for the feedback.
