Boat is winterized, covered, on trailer and plugged into house current (dedicated 20amp circuit) using shore power adapter. I want to maintain batteries on float/trickle charge with factory charger until spring. Shore power and battery charger are switched ON (white toggles). My question: Will the batteries continue to charge if the battery switches (red dials) are in the OFF position?
I'm receiving conflicting answers. Some say the charger is directly connected to the batteries (bypassing the battery switches). Some say the batteries won't stay charged unless the battery switches are in the ON position.
I'm trying to avoid disconnecting the batteries for the off season to keep them from draining down.
