2026 Ranger Tugs going all lithium.

Something I did during the change over was to move all loads from the engine starting battery (except the engine) over to the new lifepo. I know this may not be agreeable with everyone, having some very important loads on the starting battery sometimes does make sense. My feeling is if my house battery is dead there is a problem, and I need to do something to fix it. And to me the most important thing is that I can always start my engine. And with this setup I don't need solar to the starter battery and only a tiny trickle charger for when I have shore power, and even that is not really necessary. It basically works now like the starter battery in every automobile, and doesn't require any supplemental changer.

Completely agree with that philosophy. That's how I've always been wired and will keep it so. Only change for me is moving the thruster and windlass to the house bank.
