I'm trying out the fresh water faucet for first time. Put some water in and turned on the pump. I can hear the pump but no water coming out. Any ideas. Thanks.

Maybe not enough water in the tank so the pickup tube is just picking up air. Try filling the tank all the way.

The water pump on my 2012 R27 is self priming but after running the tank dry, it does take a while to get going. According to the Johnson manual I have (your model may differ) it is self-priming from 2 meters to 2.5 meters. On mine, the piping run from the water tank near the helm back to the cockpit locker where the hot water tank is installed is a bit longer and so the wait for priming always seems like it is taking too long. The manual also states you can run the pump dry for a short period of time (not defined) and seems more concerned that you may deplete your battery by doing so. HTH, GF

When my water pump went out on my boat it did the same thing would run but no water! I found that there was material that had damaged the diaphragm on the pump. Took the pump over to the RV place to try to get parts for a rebuild, but was cheaper to purchase a new one. I think the price was about $65. You may get a better deal by shopping around, I see them on Amazon for $35 to $150.
