This is my Tug... I have owned it for almost 30 years,,,, I bought it from a brokerage in Channel Islands...it came from Long Beach where it was originally purchased as a committee boat for a yacht club... Seahorse is a sailboat company and normally builds large sailboats...they built 3 of these tugs...I have seen one other...in the Oxnard marina...
It is constructed of heavy hand laid fiberglass...it does have lots of wood trim inside...it has two stainless steel 10 gallon tanks...6 gal of fresh water.. I installed a marine radio and a three dimension sonar unit... as I use the Tug for diving and having a good look at the bottom has located many boats and treasures...
Originally the boat came with a Yanmar two cylinder...(16hp raw water cooled)... I extended the cabin back 18"...installed a Yanmar 3QM30 (28hp raw water cooled) but cracked the block two years ago when I had a broken back and had someone else winterize it...they got "most" of the water...but missed the block drain..oops... So I purchased a new Universal 3M-20b (18hp fresh water cooled) and now have it installed ....I am in the process of finding the proper propeller for the set up... runs nice and quiet...
I installed the antique searchlight, a steam whistle (that I use air to blow) and a very loud air horn..it has a small air tank and a compressor that produces 35 lb of air..
