What's the amperage output on the alternator in a yanmar equipped 21 ec tug ?

My 3GM30F YEU (European Spec) has a 55 AMP Alternator. Reach out to your Yanmar Distributor. That's who your New York dealers purchase from. Their parts dept can email you a schematic in PDF of your engine model. Keep it for future reference and ordering parts from your dealer or them. This will list your alternator by the exact Yanmar part number and list your amperage as well.

If you have the 3YM engine it's either a 60 or 80 amp alternator. Probably 80A.

I emailed Cascade Engine Center (local Yanmar dealer) and they said the 30hp has a 125 amp alternator.

Well...CEC should know the correct answer.

My Yanmar service manual (in section 10) states that the 3YM had a 60A alternator through model year 2008 and an 80A in 2009 and thereafter. Both are Hitachi alternators.

My 2013 model year Ranger 21EC tug has the 3YM with a Hitachi alternator part number corresponding to the 80A model described in the Service Manual.

Are the NEWEST 30hp Yanmars equipped with 125A alternators?

Whether 55, 60, 80, or 125A they are all more than adequate for the needs of a 21EC.
