Hello Fellow Tuggers,

The battery charger on my 2014 21ec is being weird. It’s display is showing 0.0 volts and amps when plugged in, the fan runs constantly when hooked to power and the “conditioning” light stays illuminated when plugged in. I’ve check the two inline fuses and they’re good. I did a hard reboot on the charger. II checked the house battery with a multimeter with the charger hooked up to power and it shows 11.2v the starting battery shows 12.6v so I’m assuming the charger isn’t charging the batteries. The engine charges the batteries when it’s running. Any ideas? Relay? Charger failed? It’s a Pro Mariner 1220p.

Thanks for your help!

I would say, yes you have a problem and in need of a new charger. Your voltages are too low.

I would now call Promariner they are very helpful. I had problem with my charger and I called them. the short of it... Their office is about 60 miles from my house. I went there, they take my charger to test it and in 15 minutes came back with a new in the box charger for me. They didn't have the same one but give me a bigger one too.

Now they could have mailed it me, but I wanted to take the drive. I will say, they will not sell you one over the phone. BUT they will sell you a replacement one!! Call them and you will not be disappointed.

After trouble shooting with ProMariner it seems as though my battery charger is indeed kaput. Unfortunately my 5 year warranty had expired, but ProMariner sold me a new unit at a very fair price. I just wanted to take a moment to give an update and say thanks for Kevin from Ranger Tugs for helping me a TON along the way and also give a shout out to Bruce at ProMariner for being super helpful too. I love working with companies that provide this kind of support.

Gratefully,
Tyler
