Hello All,

Question: Does the 21ec bow thruster draw any current when not being used? It has this mammoth disconnect switch under the berth cushion that is very hard to reach. Is there any harm in leaving it on? I will rarely need the thruster on such a small boat, but if I ever do, it is likely to be a situation where I can't take the time to dive under the cushion.

Thanks

Larry

Good evening Larry. You’re absolutely right the location of the main switch to turn on the bow thruster is ridiculous. That’s why I moved the switch to the opposite side of the factory installed location. It was an easy modification and makes the location much more user friendly. Let me know if you want more details and I’ll post pictures. To answer your question there’s little to no battery drain when the main switch is on and the bow thruster toggle switch on the helm is off. The toggle switch is designed to turn off after a few minutes of non use. It’s like having a flashlight with batteries installed but just sitting there.
Cheers,
Karl
