21EC EZ Loader single axle trailer brake info

Hello All,

I have the above mentioned trailer and would like to upgrade the brakes, specifically with stainless rotors. Has anyone done this? The trailer literature says the brake pads are from about a 2000 KIA Sephia. (How the heck did they ever choose those?) Does that mean the rotors and everything else is KIA. If any of you have even just replaced the cast iron rotors, how did you describe/order them?

You can get all replacement parts from EZLoader's on-line store; calipers and rotors are not stainless tho.

My 2006 R21-EC has the EZ Loader single axle trailer. I just overhauled the brakes and bearings and found that I had Kodiak 225 Stainless calipers, which were in good shape. The rotors are plain steel but they are very thick; 23mm and they can be turned down to 21.6mm. The pads were also stainless. I had the rotors resurfaced for $20 for both. The pads had some life left so I reused them. Had to replace inner wheel bearing and race. Brakes now work for total outlay of about $50 plus brake fluid. If your rotors are thick enough, why not resurface them?
