21EC opening front windshield

Have any 21EC owners installed an opening front windshield center window? Saw one on one for sale. Wondering if anyone has done the conversion and where did you get the hatch?

No success on opening front windscreens here. They are so secure I fear there would be leak possibilities. We've found that underway opening the hatch oiver the vee berth creates a pretty good breeze used as a wind scoop, but be sure if spray starts coming that it's closed. We also have a little 12 volt fan mounted over the helmsman's seat that can swivel either way, very quiet variable speed and blades have softened edges that means yoy can stickj your hand out and stop them uninjured. This has worked for over 1600 nautical miles in our EC-21

Hey. I would second what Kent said. A couple times a year are 21 gets pretty hot. We bring a fan with us and usually find it when we’re on our way opening. The front hatch works well. I wouldn’t mess with the opening hatch on the front. I think you’re opening a can of worms more than a window.

Kent - thanks for the reply. The boat already has two 12 volt fans installed. It would be nice to have fresh air, but doesn’t look like it is worth the trouble.
