We have a new (to us) R25 SC which we have had for just under two weeks. There is a constant humming noise very audible in the head but I believe originates under the cockpit on the starboard side. Wondering if this is normal and what it is.
Thanks.

Had the same issue. It was the shower sump pump. The sensor failed and the pump turned on. Open the locker in the head and pull out the flooring in the locker. If it is the shower sump pump, it will be obvious. The other culprit might be the bilge pump. For that, check the 12v breaker panel by the helm. If the bilge pump is operating, the light will for the bilge pump will be on.

for a temporary solution you can pull the fuse for the pump. Hopefully wire is labeled as it is on mine.

I have a 2010 R25SC, the shower sump pump utilizes a Rule Automatic Float Switch. It might just be clogged so perhaps a cleaning is in order before you have to replace it. Hopefully the factory left enough slack wire to change it out if you have to. You will have to get the cover off the shower sump, it is held on by 4 Philip screws. An offset Philips head screw driver should help as you don't have much room in that limited space. I only put a couple of screws back in, finger tight. The cover is not watertight as there is a gap in the back of it for the wires.

Thanks all! Appreciate the response. I will look for the fuse to shut it off prior to inspecting it.
Thanks again.

I had issues with the shower bilge pump on my C30... came on when it was not supposed and would not come on when it should.... frustrating. I put in a manual switch, now all is good.
