288C heat pump/air-conditioning problems

We have a 2026 Solara S310 SB with the heat pump. Probably the same as your c288.
If the water temp is at 41 or below the heat pump won’t work . There is a water temp sensor on the unit. We are in puget sound and the water in the winter is just a little higher than that around 45 degrees in the winter. We used the boat this winter when air temp was below freezing and the heat pump worked well. We can get one night without shore power when it is cold like that.
We like being away from marinas a fair bit so we added a Webasto diesel heater and now can do multi days overnight without shore power in the winter.

Thanks for the response. I also have added diesel heat for the same reason to be able to stay on the hook rather than in Marina‘s for extended periods. I really do think the manufacturer should rethink the system they are installing in these boats. I boat a little further north than you do and find the water temperature gets below 40 and have had the system stop functioning. They do sell these boats based on the we can do it all principal unless the water is below 40°.! Other than that enjoying the boat and for at least the next eight or nine months I won’t have to worry about water temperature is getting that cold. I hope you enjoy your new boat as well.
