Hello to All,
Our 2019 boating season is here, and all the various floatplans we personally have scheduled for the summer is exhilarating!
Our 2nd Annual Roaming Rondy, featuring Chatterbox Falls in Princess Louisa Inlet, B.C., is established with (6) ports of call. This is a non-sponsored, self-supported event where you can participate in any or all ports. We will be limited to (12) boats based on slip availability at several marinas along the Sunshine Coast of B.C. We currently have (6) vessels confirmed and will take reservations for the group through May 19. This deadline is necessary to notify each marina of confirmed boats participating and releasing any remaining slips at their request.
Confirmation can be made to:
Roaming.rondy@gmail.com
Please provide the following information:
Boat Name / Length Overall / Skipper’s Name / Power Requirements / Tie Preference
Your confirmation for each port of call will be logged in based on order received (so please tell me which ports you plan to participate in). Upon receiving a confirmation email from roaming.rondy@gmail.com , please coordinate with each of the listed marinas below (unless noted otherwise), reference the Annual Roaming Rondy, and provide the necessary credit card information to them to reserve your slip within the group. They will not charge your card until arrival, and they all have generous cancellation policies. Having said that, I will maintain a list to add participants (with your approval) if a confirmed participant cancels.
The Floatplan (you can email me for a updated floatplan map PDF) is as follows:
1. Cap Sante Marina, Anacortes, WA, 8/21, 8/22, VHF 66A, coordinated by group leader
2. Ganges Marina, Salt Spring Island, B.C., 8/23, 8/24, 8/25, VHF 66A, 250.537.5242 (Celine) *
3. Gibsons Marina, Howe Sound, B.C., 8/26, VHF 66A, coordinated by group leader *
4. Backeddy Marina, Sechelt Peninsula, 8/27, B.C., VHF 66A, 800.626.0599 (Kristine) *
5. Chatterbox Falls, Princess Louisa Inlet, B.C., 8/28, 8/29 *
6. John Henry Marina, Pender Harbour, B.C., 8/30, 8/31, VHF 66A, 604.883.2336 (Rudy)
* Crossing the Georgia Strait can be temperamental, so I have inserted a “grace” day for weather if necessary. We would delay departure from Ganges (1) day, arrive next day at Gibsons, and the day after to Backeddy. Our stay at Chatterbox Falls would be reduced to (1) night. Pray for good boating weather!
We’re looking forward to an exciting boating season, getting together with old friends as well as making new ones… be safe on the water!
Clear skies, flat water and tight lines!
