2nd Owner Orientation. I’m the new owner of a 2014 R31CB and more than in love with the boat. I asked Andrew the possibility of the Factory Delivery Experience. I got a NO, he stated in his email that's not offered on the secondary market. The boat will be kept in Everett after this weekend. If anyone is interested in going over the different systems of the boat that would be fantastic. I’m sure we could come up with some sort of compensation. After all I work for a major seafood co. here in the Puget Sound area.

I had wondered this very thing as I just purchased a 2016 21EC. It looked to me as the initial "Delivery Experience" cost $1500 for that boat. I would have gladly paid that as a new 2nd owner.

On a related note, I just leased a slip at Everett on the South Docks for our "Scout". I'll be moving her from Kingston to Everett next week. Hope to see you around the marina.

Cheers,
Mark

RobertL, I'm in the Puget Sound area and frequently pass through Everett (@#*&^% that Everett traffic!) on my way to visit my 2016 R31CB in La Conner. I'd be happy to spend a couple of hours with you going over the systems on your 31CB (presumably they are close to the same as my own 31CB), but it is going to be a challenge to find a convenient time anytime soon. If you don't get any other takers in the next few weeks, PM me and we can figure something out.

PS- no compensation required 🙂

I'm sure many of your most pressing questions can be found in your Owners Manual.........oh wait! There is NO Owners Manual! 😱

Sorry for the sarcasm but I went through the same thing. I was more than willing to pay for the orientation but was told "no." We've been hearing for a LONG time that owners manuals are on their way.......

RobertL, I'm not clear on whether you bought the boat through a dealership, or direct from Ranger Tugs, and were looking for the Delivery Experience included; or if it was a private deal and you were looking to purchase the Delivery Experience after the fact?
We bought our boat used last year (a 2013 R25SC) from Port Boat House in Port Alberni, and were pleasantly surprised when they included two days of orientation, on the water in our own new boat, with a captain they hired who regularly does their orientations. He was very knowledgeable and personable and we learned a lot. Due to family time constraints, we had to decline the second day of training, and were quit disappointed to do so.
Is that an option to contact a RT dealer in your area and see if you can negotiate/hire someone that they use to do Ranger Tug orientation?

A lot of Rangers are starting to show up at Everett lately.

If you guys venture toward the South docks, look for me. Trust me when I say "You won't have any trouble spotting me in a crowd" 😀

Robert,

Glen Wagner has been doing Ranger orientations for over two years and does a great job. He did our orientation on our new 2016 two years ago. I would highly recommend him. His contact information is

Robert,

It's not much time, but if you are attending the RT rendezvous at Roche, you can sign up for a brief (15 min) technical session on your boat.

I echo YukonRon's experience. In May we became the 2nd owners of our boat through Port Boathouse. We too were offered 2 days of orientation from an experienced captain. His schedule only allowed for one day but, since we live close by, PBH will provide the other day at some future date. This is fortunate as it has allowed me to get used to the boat following one day of training and not be overwhelmed by the extensive knowledge that would have been imparted by the captain over two consecutive days at a time when I was quite unfamiliar with the boat and still suffering from the administrative hassles and stress of buying a boat. I will be much better able to focus my questions as I can now see a bigger picture. Port Boathouse has been very good in follow-up.
