300 HP Yamaha Motors

Why are the 300 HP Yamaha Motors now coming from the factory with white uppers and gray lower units? I have seen no other brand of boat do this . Just curious .No one has been able to explain it to me. Other than "thats the way they come" Thanks in advance for clearing this up .

I have been told that the lowers only come in gray and it is the top 2 pieces that come in either gray or white. But, I know that is not true as I have seen several all white Yamaha 300 motors that were delivered within the last month. They were purchased at the local Yamaha dealer.

it would be odd that the marketing team would let the photos of grey and white be used on the yamaha website if all white was possible. the grey+white is ugly!

My RT-27OB was originally delivered with a White/gray motor, it was just to Fugly for me and my dealer got an all gray motor for me. I was there when the 2 all white 300's were pulled from their crates, so I have to believe they came from Yamaha that way.

We got our R27OB delivered last month and it came with the white/gray combination. When I asked the delivery person about this he said it's the way they come now and that the white looks better with the boat. Probably some BS. I do like the white top, you only see the gray when the motor is lifted. I think the fish like the gray better!
