While we have owned Karma now for twenty-two months, we have only had possession of her for 18 of those months. For four months she sat in Alameda at the broker’s waiting for a new owner to make a reasonable offer on her. After four months of what we would call stupid offers, we chose to take her off the market and bring her home to the PNW.
Since then we have spent a week on Lake Shasta with her and then eleven days in the Gulf Islands. This past Saturday marked another record for Karma. Saturday night was our 300th night aboard in basically 18 months! Not bad for a couple of folks that live 1,000 miles (or at least have their land based home) away from her.
In that time we have visited the San Juan’s twice, the Gulf Islands twice, Desolation Sound once, crossed the Straits of Juan de Fuca a half dozen times, crossed the straits of Georgia twice, and been through Dodd Narrows as well as Deception Pass.
In the near future we plan to spend the week between Christmas and New Years in the San Juan’s and then take her to Campbell River for the summer of 2012. This will allow us additional time to visit the Broughton’s and Desolation Sound again. Along with all of this, there is also the possibility of a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet in Mid January.
Along the way we have met some absolutely incredible people from all walks of life! This has truly been the greatest part of owning such a boat as Karma.
Looking forward to the next 18 months (and beyond) on Karma! See you on the water,
David and Maureen
