3000 miles and counting

Following your adventures from NW Montana to Florida....and I thought I'd really had a haul from Oakland to Flaming Gorge last August, then to Lake Powell and back to Sacramento. At least it wasn't in the dead of Winter. Glad you have an F-450. My F-350 handles the R-25 just fine, with room to spare for power and handling, braking. The "tow-haul" option lets you down the other side of the moutain without any brakes, just uses compression.
Wish I could join you in Florida this Winter, but I do plan on having Blue Bayou in British Columbia this Summer, and Florida next Winter. May our paths cross somewhere between Montana, California, and Florida !! Meanwhile, I'll skip driving in Montana and Wyoming in Winter, with a Ranger Tug. Hats off to you.

Darrel & Dee,

Sorry to be missing you while you are in "Our" neck of the woods as Marc and I are in New Orleans at the boat show. While the autopilot is being installed take a little bit of time to go over to the "Island" and visit with Al at Eddie Teach's Raw Bar (best burgers and oysters on SGI). Make sure you tell him I sent you and he'll take good care of you. Enjoy your cruise in the St. Johns and say "Hi" to Frank and Cathy Forest for me...I know that they are looking forward to seeing you there.

Hope to see you on the return trip!

Norb,
I think that 450 would handle it fine. The engine has plenty of power, suspension is stout. Might pay to check with Timberen in Canada. I put them on my 450. Soon as you put on the hitch weight it sets down on the Timberens. Much better than air bags. Life time gaurantee. I took the airbags off.
I had a rig like yours and pulled my C-Dory lots of miles. I even put an extension on the hitch and carried a 110 Honda.
It sounds like you would be under your rated GVW.

That is only my humble opinion.

We are parked in East Point here in Florida. Auto pilot is going on. Should get it in the water today for swinging the compass.
We signed up with Finallyfast and I believe that has done the trick. The laptop is working much faster. $29.00

I posted some pictures in the Lucky Fin album (3000 miles) of the Tin Shed here in Apalatchacola. My favorite shopping spot. Course I never buy anything, prices are out of my league. Dee spends a couple hours in all the shops, I wait for her in the Tin Shed.
Example: I found a real old ships helm in a flea market in Montana (42 " one) for $100. In the Tin Shed it was $495. A salty old guy owns the place. He has a 50 some foot yacht that uses to much fuel. He wants to sell it and buy a 25 Ranger or a new 29 Ranger. (Mark and the factory ought to pay us a commission.) He wants $350,000 for his boat , but he is not holding his breath.

Capt.D,

That "Salty Old Guy" that owns the Tin Shed is Harry Arnold that owns "half" of Apalachicola and the original owner of Harry A's on St. George Island. I've done a lot of work on his home across the street from the Tin Shed (built the gazebo on pilings) and spent four years of my life with his bar as my "living room". A character for sure! He came and looked at an R-25 that I was testing before delivery...I think it was the boat that went to Henry M. in Vero Beach. His wife said it was too small, the only reason he didn't buy one then. I have it in my schedule to call him for a ride on the R-29 when we finally get it home from Atlanta and Stuart.

Now go cruise and catch some fish!

Charlie,
Yup, Doug says monday it will be done, then i'm going fishing. Sell a bunch in the mean time. Ranger must survive and florish. Future tugnuts are a must. 😀
