Couple questions:

After being on the hard this winter i was surprised to turn on battery switches and whala had plenty of battery,
She is charging tonight.

1. After I opened the hatch it would not close, I thought this is not a probelm, as I hit the trim tab rocker swtich and raised fully this as many may know has to be done to send fluid to hatch hyd. cylinder. Did not work and I thought well maybe its lower the tabs? So I tried that still no good? I tried both ways about 6 times and nothing hatch had to be left open. Any ideas what to check? It raised a little slow but nevertheless it fully raised. I think the resouvoir is behind aft seat but it was getting dark. Also what fluid can I use from local store is it atf?

2. LP alarm I have the tank off and no odors present in cabit but it comes on then I hit button it stops but then it comes on again! I hit mute nothing happens any reason its doing this? low battery, it was fine all last season.

It is a great boat and sad I have to sell it, need a little bigger Big Blue Sea boat. Have survey tomorrow with a backup this Friday! Thanks so much.

Yes. It’s ATF. Make sure the trim tabs and engine hatch cover are closed when you fill the reservoir, otherwise you will overfill it and have ATF fluid overflow from the reservoir when you retract tabs/hatch. I have an R29 and access the reservoir from the rear aft panel.

I have heard of this problem but not experienced it myself. From the symptoms you describe it sounds like the hydraulic ram is either stuck or the pump is not allowing the fluid back into the reservoir.

To trouble shoot I would try loosening the fitting where the hydraulic hose goes into the ram and see if fluid leaks out. If it does and the hatch starts to close then the problem is probably with the pump. if the hatch does not start to come down then the problem is probably with the ram itself.

Be careful though!!!! if you loosen that fitting too much all the fluid will leak out making a mess and the hatch could close quickly with you underneath it.

Please let us know what you find out.

Hopefully someone else has had this problem and definitively knows the fix.
