Does anyone have any inside tips, ideas or success stories for trying to change the zinc on this generator - or changing oil for this generator. It seems a bit inaccessible.
Has anyone dreamed up a way to slide it in and out? This is my idea for a winter project plan to make the generator more service friendly.

Not familiar with the larger 4KW. The smaller Genset on our R25s have an easily accessable zinc (located in high point on air cooler). Takes 5 minutes to inspect/change. Since it is only a couple of bucks not even worth inspecting just have a new one ready. However, changing oil is another story. The engine has a drain plug but it is so low and inaccessable that pumping out the sump via dipstick hole is only method I have been able to do. This little engine does not hold much oil but I am only able to remove about 1/2 of that with this method.

If anyone removes their Genset for any reason it would be well worth installing a remote drain connection on the sump while you had it out. Has anyone had to lift the Genset?? I wonder how much trouble that would be.

I did install a brass drain ball valve on the Main engine which makes it easier to service. Just hook up a rubber hose to nipple on valve and drain oil.
