Yesterday I came across what I think is an interesting video experience and wonder if any of you have the technical knowledge background on how this 3D Reality is achieved using a camera (maybe a special one). I know Ranger Tugs has provided their Virtual Tour videos for the Ranger Tug models, but this one done by Volvo beats all of the various 3D or Virtual video tours I've come across.

Here's a link if you have any interest... http://www.volvocars.com/us/about/o...edium=Email&utm_campaign=November_non_HR_2014

You do not need the cardboard headset to get a feel for this 3D video. You simply can download the Phone App and try it out. I've done this and moving the Phone around gives you the 3D look and feel for what the video/camera has captured.

Volvo claims... "This is the first-ever fully immersive test drive, using just a smartphone..."

The camera setup for creating this 3D video can be seen at http://www.volvocars.com/us/about/o...edium=Email&utm_campaign=November_non_HR_2014 where it can be seen that 8 cameras were used that cost around $800,000. 😱 Seeing the camera setup is quite an eye opener.

Enjoy the experience.

Now if only Ranger Tugs can get onboard with this...

Or... as an enthusiast, you could get the cameras and offer your services to Ranger Tugs. 😉

I bet they could be rented for less than $800K. 🙂

Look at the money you will save by renting the equipment and offering your services.
