Launched in Port McNeil July 8 and pulled out August 8. Had a good weather window so rounded Cape Caution to Fury Cove the first day. Worked our way up to Kitimat and back. The seas were generally calm; the weather mostly rainy. We have modified the boat to have a full hard top with canvass sides so we stayed snug and dry. We carry an inflatable kayak as our dinghy and one night it filled 5" and added another 3" during the day! Apart from the odd fishing boat and one young man sailing from Anacortes to Alaska in a Hobie Cat, we were the smallest vessel in the ocean. It is largely a vast wilderness and while we were always aware of our relative insignificance, our little tug saw us through a wonderful adventure.

We’re very jealous. A whole month! Sounds like you had a fantastic time. It’s just too hot here to go out for more than 3-4 days but fall weather is coming.
Cheers!

Congrats Bruce and Debbie,

You got back just in time for young Debbie's birthday, it appears! 🙂

Glad you had a terrific time, except for the rain, that is. Sorry I couldn't join you.

I am slated to head to Nanaimo on the 19th and spend two weeks in Barkley Sound, so I will get a good dose of B.C. boating then. I know you've been there before, so do you have any recommendations on things to see/do in that area?

Again, congrats on your usual full-on monthly boating excursion, and keep in touch.
