After 2.5 seasons I’ll be doing a major touch up of the ablative bottom paint on our RT 25 Classic. I guess that’s about average bottom paint longevity for a boat that’s been in both fresh water (90 days a year) and cool salt water (45 days a year) and on the trailer the remainder of the year.
We go slow so I don’t think we wear much if any of the ablative paint off due to high speeds. Are those of you with O/B getting 2 seasons with your ablative bottom paint? Does your higher speed travel wear the paint off faster as I would expect? Or did you go to a hard finish bottom paint to avoid the issue?

cutwater 28 spending most of its time around 19 knots.

i use petit vivid and got 2.5 years in salt all year round. paint was thin/worn out in places but not completely gone.

I had my bottom painted with Micron CSC in the spring of 2016. I did sanding,a barrier coat and 3 coats of ablative. The first red, the second two black. right now I have a good amount of red showing and am doing 2 coats of black this spring.I have about 150 hours on it and usually travel about 15 kts.
