I need to figure out what my Abso charger is doing when generating solar power. So when the MPPT Controller is off, all three battery banks (House,Eng,Thruster) are sitting at 13.3v. During solar production, my house will jump up along with the solar output (13.5v-14.0v) and my Eng and Thruster batteries will slowly drop off to 12.7v-12.5v. These two batteries are not getting a charge from the Abso or Solar at this point. Once solar MPPT turns off and House slowly dissipates to 13.3v, then banks 2/3 kick in and charge Eng and Thruster to 13.3v. The cycle repeats itself every day.

Background
- Bought 2020 R23 used. Installed Victron MPPT 100/30 MPPT and 210w panel tied directly to House Bank
- Discovered no ACR between House and Eng battery, only between Eng and Thruster (F200 has dual charging to Eng and House)
-Installed Victron shunt/CerboGX/Battery Sense and can monitor batteries from anywhere using Victron Portal

So why is the Abso not charging the Eng and Thruster when the House is being charged by the Solar? The Abso 1220 should allow banks 2/3 to charge when bank 1 hits float according to the manual. My initial thought was that somehow the Abso is in Power Supply (Program Setting) because it is maintaining the batteries at 13.3v and not 13.5v, but in Program Setting, banks 2/3 are disabled and shouldn't come on at all.Any thoughts?? When I'm on the boat I use the parallel switch to connect all three during solar charging. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Solar MPPT in bulk mode, House bank increased to 13.37 and Abso kicked off and Eng battery slowly dissipating, currently at 13.20 and falling

Did you call the controller manufacturer? Usually when batteries are at rest they will settle in to 12.6 volts. So it sound like your one battery is charging up and the others are at rest.

They are at rest when the solar controller is producing, but why does the abso kick off for banks 2/3 when bank 1 is getting a charge from solar?

I would follow up on Mike's suggestion, Call Kisae technical service or email them. I have had good customer service from them when asking questions about their product.

The ABSO has battery 1 as the priority battery. If that battery has current draw the charger will sense this and prioritize that bank. There should be an over ride function to this mode that will allow the charger to charge all banks at the same time. While this doesn't make sense that the #1 battery has a charge coming in from solar and the charger is sensing a discharge. It is a smart charger that may have quirks in design that the manufacture can explain to you. Is the boat wired with an individual charger lead going to each battery bank? I would confirm all battery connections and wiring is as manufactures design. Make sure the battery 2 and 3 are grounded outside the battery #1 shunt. Assuming that the battery monitor is for the house bank only.

Waiting on a response from Kisae
