The AC on my C-28 is not cooling properly. I have good water flow and did open the access were the filter is in the cave, noticed ice on the coils. How do we access the unit for repair?

Before resorting to a repair. We had some issues a few years ago and when on the phone with the ac manufacturer the tech suggested we not use the cooling mode but use the dehumidify mode as the only difference is a minor warming cycle that eliminates the freezing of coils. Still cools wonderfully. Good luck.

With information like Ethan just shared on a possible ac cure is why this forum is so valuable to all of us. None of us have all the knowledge but collectively, by sharing, we help each other, save a lot of time and money for our fellow Ranger Tug and Cutwater owners.

The panel (monkey fur panel that the teak grill is mounted to) can be removed and you will gain reasonable access. The filter in the teak grill really isn't the filter for the unit. There is another filter that slides into a track just infront of the coils. This filter gets plugged and reduces air flow to the coils. There is also a setting in the programing de-icing mode parameter P8 1 for 5 degree F differential ,2 for 7 degree F differential. I am referring to Dometic Passport I/O.

Agree with BB, found second clogged filter behind condenser coil. AC now works fine.
