Getting this error, on both units, don’t see water pumping over the side!

Any thing I should check….fuse?

Thanks

Stating the obvious I assume you checked to make sure seacock open.
If display comes on and fan starts it should not be a fuse or breaker.
I believe fan comes on first then water pump. If pump makes a sound but no flow you probably need to prime the pump/strainer with a hose.

Yes seasick open. Fan starts runs for a bit, no sound from the pump. Any idea where the fuse would be. I don’t see on the general boat schematic.

Thanks

Probably not a fuse if the air unit is running the fuse is the breaker. The reason you are not seeing water is the pump did not pick up prime. A common issue with a Ranger or Cutwater. The pump is not self priming and mounted above the water line. Prime the pump and the pump will work.

Wonderful. Sorry not familiar with how to prime the pump.

Use search function using the term prime" and you will see numerous posts on how to prime.

Omg. You’re not kidding. I got 33 pages of “prime” hits . Have boat for 4 seasons never a problem.
Thanks

Ps to the people winterizing the AC, back flushing is easier.

I have had multiple problems with my AC unit so I’m not sure of the codes but I have had to flush my system well because of not enough water flow and last year I thought that I had a Freon problem. It turned out to be a burnt capacitor. Replaced it and everything has been working well for a while. I flush it every month or so now.

I've seen posts saying that to prime the AC you unscrew the seawater filter cap just after the AC seacock (close it first) and place a hose against the upstream outlet inside the filter to force water up and into the pump. Replace the cap, open the seacock and start the AC. Haven't done it myself.

Also, you may be able to just put the hose against the port side outlet under the passenger seat window using low pressure. This requires opening the filter cap too and waiting for the water to drain down to the filter (seacock closed at this point). Once you have fresh water overflowing the filter housing into your bilge, the entire line should have water. Replace the filter cap, open the seacock, and start your AC. This does require two people and a dinghy or dock if the boat is in the water.

Interestingly, I've been able to start my AC for two seasons now without any priming. I just open the seacock and turn on the AC. Its possible it is primed with winterizing solution which does the trick. Also, when winterizing I place a funnel into the port hull outlet as above and pour in anti-freeze until it drains out the opened seacock thru-hull. No pressure needed, but does require two people - one to pour and look for the drainage and one to close the seacock.
