Currently have the boat (R29 Sedan) at home on shore power.

While checking the boat, I discovered no power to AC Main 1 breakers. Did some checking and found:

* Power source (30 AMP) breaker in garage is on.
* Power indicator on both ends of the shore tie are lit.
* AC Main 1 breaker lights up indicating power.
* AC Rotary Selector Switch shows green light indicating power is available.
* AC Main 1 volt meter shows no (zero) volts.
* Inverter shows r 2.0.
* No power at AC distribution panel breakers indicated on galley, forward, and salon outlets, although power indicated at other breakers such as cook top oven and ice maker.

Appreciate any assistance on determining what the problem is!

Mike

I had this happen. Most likely your inverter/charger is dead. R2.0 is the version number of the remote panel. When it displays that, it doesn't see a connection to the inverter.

There is a reset button on the inverter you can try. I had to replace mine which wasn't hard.

See this prior thread. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17052

I had a similar issue and yeah the inverter had gone bad. Fortunately easy to swap out on the R29.

Mike,

On our 2012 R29, there is a breaker switch “hidden” in the upper aft port locker. There are actually 2…. One for each circuit coming into the boat. When one trips it will shut down one side of the a/c panel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the assist! Conducted test and unit needs to be replaced.

I’m having this issue on my Rt29. One side of ac not powering up. Looked through port lazerette, not seeing the two breakers. See the three 50 amp breaker and the two large charging relays

I just had similar problem. Replaced inverters and batteries. It wasn’t until I replaced the digital inverter little control box in lazeret that it all worked.

Trying to locate the digital inverter box. Is that in the port side lazerret.

The inverter box is about 2” x 2” in cave under table bench seat for my 2017 R29 ABSO inverter/Charger. Two small screws and a snap in computer wire, looks like phone wire. Any body who wants to discuss their problem with inverter, send me your cell phone # by private message and I will try to call you, between 4:30 and 8:30 evening PST.

Yes, I see the inverter control box in the cave . When this problem is occurring, after being on the hook and then trying to turn on the inverter in the morning… the display is stuck at r2.0:
AC1 individual panel breakers; which includes the microwave and outlets does not light up(no coffee); while main breaker is lite.
After about an hour or two on shore power; the control
Box switch to charging display and AC1 came online! Strange.
The voltage on the house bank was 12.4 v

Just disconnect and reconnected the RJ comm cable at the inverter and now the unit is properly cycling! I guess oxidation on the pins.
Yeah success!

Quick update:

I bought a KISAE Abso 2000 from DonRowe.com and just finished install/test with no issues.

What took the most time was finding another location to avoid getting the new unit wet. I was hoping to put it in the cave but there was no place I could find to avoid it being banged into, hiding wires, etc. I found adequate space in the starboard locker on the bulkhead forward of the thruster battery. It was a pain to work in such tight quarters but hopefully it will provide better protection.

Happy to find this post since I also have:
* Inverter shows r 2.0
* No power at AC distribution left panel only (Microwave, galley, forward, and salon outlets), other panels are OK.

I will try power recycle with the switch located on the KISAE Abso 2000 Compact Pure Sine Inverter/Charger and on the remote switch located in the cave.

Given what I've read, I'm thinking the inverter unit likely needs to be replaced.
