Access for Wiring

How difficult is it to remove the dark brown upholstery on the interior "A" post? I'm looking for access to run a speaker wire from the VHF radio to the starboard-side shelf above the helm. (photo attached)

I have an R29 and had to remove this post; remove screw caps and screws and wiggle it out.
