Looking for information on the R23: how it rides in the water in swells, calm water
Overall feeling about the boat
If you had to do it over again would you buy an R23 again?
How would you rate the R23 on a scale of 1-10 ?

I’ve had one for about a month and get it on the water several times
Today puget sound was a mixed bag. My R23 flew across Shilshole toward the locks from Elliott Bay into the locks Easy smooth ride at 28mph and burning 2.5 mpg
Later the breeze and water churned up some 2 foot waves in a a real slop . I drove toward BlakeI at 10 to 12 mph and was comfortable and steady
Riding back with the waves following, 18 mph was just fine.
I like it cause it feels stable steady and safe.
I’m a sailor till now so making a break toward fuel and speed was the big shift
R23’s roots and history with Kent Ranger sail boats made this boat an easy choice, glad I did it

Same feedback here with regards to fuel burn and handling. We've had ours since early July and have almost 90 hours on it.

Very happy with the tradeoffs when compared with a larger boat. Perfect boat for us now given the large weekend circle of options given its speed. Easily trailered with a newer F-150 or similar truck, well finished and equipped.

I don't have the R-23. However, I did look at it back in Apr/may time frame this year and became besotted with the new 2018 R-27/OB (big brother to the R-23). I share similar comments to the other two above me here. It's a solid boat and gets you where you want to when you want get there. 😀 It's fast, smooth and rides the waves nicely when things go from calm to not so calm. The R-23 is a good value for the money and the Ranger Tug customer service is 2nd to none. You really cannot go wrong.

For us it's a 10. Would buy again. Only change I would make is I would gave bought the factory installed generator if it was offered when I purchased.
