Affixing CG Document number

I hate to admit it but I’m finally getting around
to mounting a CG documentation #
to my R-31.
I would appreciate any suggestions on the location. I have routed it on a 17 x 3 1/2 x 1 piece of teak.

On my C30 I mounted the documentation number plaque in the starboard cockpit storage locker affixed to the bulkhead that runs between the locker and engine. I used both screws and a bead of 3M 5200. It continues to pass the annual VSC with no concerns or negative comments. Before I mounted it there I asked a friend in the USCGA if the location was acceptable and he assured me it was.

My # is affixed in the port cockpit locker beside the batteries. I think some 3M 5200 would be good for permanently attaching it.

I used 3" letters/numbers from Home Depot, affixed to the hull bottom with 3 coats of clear resin in the starboard cockpit storage locker. It looks professional and IMHO meets the requirement that 'it be permanently affixed in a manner that it would damage the boat if removed'.
