Suggestions on how to use w/o fouling steering and running gear?

Before I installed my water maker in this location, I had a large Rubbermaid bolted to the generator platform. That kept everything secure and out of the rudder assembly.

Standard 18-20 gallon Rubbermaid. I had the heavier duty commercial NSF one.
