We own a 2022 RT31CB. Since we purchased it from the original owners we have been unable to get the freezer unit (under stair/aft salon) to work. The unit is a Nova Kool (model WF1900DC). Interestingly, there is nothing on the DC circuit panel indicating a freezer. There are, however, 3 CB switches identified as "Accessory". I have been unable to get the freezer to work by individually switching each of these to ON from.

Even more confusing, there is a CB switch on the 120/AC panel marked "Ice Maker". It also doesn't work.

My basic question is: Does anybody know which CB switch (I'm assuming 12V DC panel) is associated with the Nova Kool freezer?

Thanks in advance,

Erik Nelson

While I have a Cutwater C30, I would assume the wiring scheme is virtually the same. My vessel came with an ice maker from the factory which would only run on 120v from the breaker on the AC panel. When I removed it to install an AC/DC refrigerator/freezer I noticed they already had pre-run a pair of DC electrical wires to the same area and bundled them up.

A little investigation work and I found there was a fuse missing from the fuse block in the quarter berth which had a wire label "refrigerator 2". Putting a fuse in, I had voltage on the dead wires and was able to hook up the fridge to both sources. So I would assume much the same your fridge may not have a dedicated 12v breaker, but rather may just have a blade style fuse in one of the fuse blocks.

We just received a 2024 R31 CB… We had same issue, no idea how to turn on the aft freezer. Through process of elimination, we found that it’s controlled by the bottom accessory switch on the right side of the DC panel.

Our 2021 R31 cockpit freezer is controlled by the bottom left switch on the 12 volt panel in the cabin. It was originally labeled Accessory.

Thanks to all. Very helpful.
