I just made a trip and had to go under 4 bridges. The paper work I have and the Ranger web site has the air clearance of a Ranger 27 @ 9 feet. What about mast up? I thought I saw 12 feet somewhere? We were very close on 2 out of four bridges. I guess knowing the air clearance is something you should know? Anyone know the air clearance with the mast up on a Ranger 27? I do fold down the VHF antenna.

R27 spec sheet at factory website says 8' 9" mast down, 12' 0" mast up.

I concur with Capt. Crunch, if you're talking about air clearance while your R27 is in the water. On the trailer, with the mast down, the air clearance is just under about 11'8", also a good measurement to know for trailering under bridges or getting fuel.

Thanks for the info. I thought I saw 12' somewhere. The bridges get down to 9' around here. It's good info to have!

You may also want to consider water conditions when passing under a bridge. Wavy action and a close tolerance may not be a good situation. Also, most bridge clearances are from the lowest point you should have additional height in the center of a typical draw bridge
