I have a 2012 Ranger 29, and the air conditioner circulating pump comes on when I turn the air or heat on at the panel, but it is not pulling water. I have tried all the tricks for priming the pump, but nothing works. I do not have a manual for the pump (225500064), so I don't know if the impeller can be replaced. The pump is buried under wiring and hoses and will be very hard to take out. It does appear I can get to the 4 wing nuts that holds the plastic cover on, but would like to look at a drawing or service manual before taking things apart. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello captain cook,

Have you tried priming the pump with a hose? You have a diaphragm pump for the AC so what I try and do is turn the pressure on (for the hose) and force it through the pump to get it to prime. Sometimes this is easier if you have another person to help. One for the hose while the other turns the AC on. If you haven't tried this yet this is where I'd start.

Thanks,
-Kenny

If you are alone and have a dingy you can take a hose and force water through the thru hull discharge and force water back through the system. This should remove any air in the lines and prime it. I actually use this method while on the hard to flush the system with fresh water.
