On the way back from the Ranger Tug gathering in Desolation Sound, we happened upon a great find. We stopped in Friday Harbor for fuel and started looking in Waggoneer for local moorage for the night as the wind had kicked up and the next leg of our cruise was the crossing of the Straight of Juan de Fuca. We noticed in Waggoneer, The Galley Restaurant in Fisherman Bay, Lopez Island. Waggoneer states moorage may be arranged by calling ahead. As moorage was also available at other locations in Fisherman Bay, we chose to take a chance and just go to the Galley Restaurant dock. A local couple helped us tie up and said to talk to Jeff, the owner of the Galley Restaurant. Jeff was very accommodating and told us we were more than welcome to stay the night and that the only requirement was to have dinner in the restaurant as he considered the dock to be an extension of his parking lot. The dinner was fantastic with an exceptional salad bar. For the price of dinner, we enjoyed a delicious and plentiful meal and a night of moorage (with electric and water).
