We took delivery of Destiny back on March 29th. That weekend we cruised her over to Kirkland and back and then down to Waypoint Marine just above the locks on the Ship Canal. She has been at Waypoint for almost a month now getting her Garmin Nav System's, VHF radio's, her Fusion Stereo System installed. (I did not know you could pull 250' of speaker wire through a 38' boat!)
We went with the Garmin 5212 for the pilothouse. For the Fly Bridge we chose the Garmin 5208. We replaced the Icon VHF with the Garmin GHS 10 VHF, which has the remotely installed "Brain" and the mic's with all of the controls. We placed a mic at both the Pilothouse Helm and Fly Bridge Helm. The VHF has receive only function of AIS as well.
Not only was deciding on a name for her difficult, but then came the font! At one point we had a half dozen people working on suggestions and then we turned to Margaux. Once again, Margaux came through!
While we have already spent two dozen nights on her at Waypoint, this weekend will be our first true overnight cruise. While it will not be far, Bell Harbor, it will be a new experience in our new Destiny.
Next month she heads to Anacortes for a week. I will attend the Trawlerfest Diesel Workshop while; Destiny will be the star in the line up for Waterline Boats. We will depart Seattle at 5:30 am on the 12th, departing mid morning on the 20th for the return trip to Seattle.
June will find us cruising the Gulf Islands. July we will head off to the Discovery Islands.
At last, the new adventure begins!
