the family and I plan to spend the month of July cruising on and off and was contemplating having our boat in Anacortes in July making it easier to hit the San Juan's and the Desolation sound cruise and just drive up from Seattle.

Being that I don't want to pay standard guest moorage of say $30 per day I am hoping someone may have some suggestions and or a slip that sits unoccupied, please let me know what you think is my best solution.

Hi Jurgen,

Cap Sante has a rule prohibiting us from loaning out our slip, and each slip is checked nightly. Also, a four month contract is required for a moorage contract.

I cannot vouch for other marinas, other than to say that Anacortes Marina requires 12 month contracts.

Perhaps someone who owns their slip in a marina such as Skyline could help...

Good luck,

What about having your boat held in the yard at Skyline while not in use. When you want it, just call them in advance and have them lower it into the water ready for your use. This may or may not be cheaper than finding a short term slip, but check it out to see if it works for you.

Anacortes is just a bit tough on temp moorage. A couple of years ago my brother was on a trip and he said I could use his slip for a couple of nights So, Anacortes charges us for the full slip price even though we had only a 20' Trophy and my brother had permenent moorage already paid for.

Good luck

You may also check LaConner. They seem to have more availability that Anacortes and the rates are good.

Hi Jurgen,

I'd be happy to set you up with short term moorage here in Bellingham. A little bit further drive over Anacortes but still very close to the San Juan Islands and even closer to the Canadian Gulf Islands! My space is limited but I'm happy to help if I can. Please let me know.
