I have an R-21. I want to mount an extended roller arm at the point of the bow, where the short, factory-mounted roller is now, using the existing bolt holes as they appear to match perfectly with the new roller arm. There will be more pressure on these bolts, however, when the anchor is being retrieved. My question: What is underneath the fiberglass up there where the anchor roller sits now...is it wood? Is it metal?

Also...I guess I'm the newest member of this site, and I hesitate to start off by making negative comments, but has anyone else experienced problems with either telephoning or e-mailing the Ranger shop out in Kent, WA? They don't seem to answer the telephone or reply to e-mails. My most recent try was a few days ago when I got an answering machine; I asked the above question and left my number, but no call back. So I'm real glad I found this website!

Thanks for any help.

Try e-mailing Andrew Custis directly. Or call him. His cell phone is posted in several places on this site. Just poke around a little. Ranger is usually great, I'm surprised you didn't get a quick response. Andrew will see your post and probalbly will post without a request. Wish he and Jeff Messmer still worked for C-Dory although they are getting better by the day!

I get calls daily and we are at the shop Monday-Friday 8-5pm. That is the first time I have ever heard someone say we were hard to reach. I am sorry that we didn't respond to your needs in a timely fashion. I will have to ask our production manager what they are using to stiffen the fiberglass around the anchor roller. I would be guessing that there is some wood there. You can email me direct at andrewcustis@rangertugs.com. I will try and get a response to you by Monday. I will not be in the office but will try and have someone give you a ring.

I have talked with the owner of our company and we put in a block of wood up under the anchor roller. We dont see a problem with mounting an extended roller off of the bow. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Sorry again for the miscommunication. I have our office manager looking through her messages to see if we might have missed one. Please also let me know which address you were sending emails to and which phone number you were calling.
