Three simple solutions to annoying problems with R25 & R27 models (and maybe some others). The wiggling table top (might be corrected on newer models), the bleeding toe refrigerator overhang and the unseen and difficult to use radio transmitter unit. Pops up from this tag, three in a row.

Looks good NZ!

Looks good. I replaced my mic with the remote mic also. Question, I see in the picture your wire looks like it is running through the wood panel. Didn't you get a metal mount with a connector? You can then plug the mic right in at the wood panel.

I received a 35' extension cord, a metal bracket with no connectors and another mic hanger. Assumed I could just connect to the front like the old mic, (NOT!!!). Chose not to use the cord, (I only needed 8" to get through the dash). The instructions did not say where the connection had to be made. Luckily I did not assume I had a bad unit, just no information. Had to call Garmin. Apparently this is their most common call. The told me the answer before I asked the question. Drilled through the dash and used a Garmin grommet which works fine.

I finally improved my radio situation. I mounted a new Standard Horizon on top of the help... moved the compass starboard about 6 inches. Now I can see the info on the radio screen. All wires and antenna lead slid between the wood at the juncture of 2 windows. I mounted their remote mic in the storage compartment on the port side co pilot seating. The mic wire swept around under the fur ceiling inserts above the V berth. Now my wife can use the radio if I am occupied.

Now just to figure out how to run a pair of wires for the PA fog horn speaker!

I may have had the long extension as well and I seem to remember I just coiled it up. Now I need to take a look!
