First time changing ; anyone have an inventory of all the anodes on a 2017 RT29CB?

Thanks

Great question - I hope you don’t mind if I piggy-back on your thread, but I’m in the same situation as a new owner of a 2017 R21 and could use similar guidance (especially Lewmar bow thruster?). Thanks much!

I see what I see l, it’s the ones I don’t see (sounds like Casey Stengel).
- Trim tabs
- prop cone
- large transom anode
- perhaps one or two on engine

??

Depending on engine - the D4 300 HP requires no anodes.

There are two small cone shaped anodes on the bow and stern thrusters.

Also, always check the engine's raw water pickup grate for damage and corrosion.

Also check the keel drain plug for damage and corrosion.

Two more that weren’t on the list... Each thruster has a baby size anode on the port side of each. WRT Volvo D4-300, mine (a 2014) has two pencil anodes. I have heard that later models do not have these. I bought the complete set from Ranger Parts dept who have a a spreadsheet with the parts and cost. I was pleasantly surprised that the costs through RT were similar to online suppliers. I was able to easily replace my prop, tab and transom zincs with the boat in the water using a dive mask and snorkel. The thruster zincs were still good thankfully, but I bet I could do those with some breath holding.

Don’t forget a good layer of dried thread locker especially on the prop zinc! Those puppies have a way of spinning off over time.

I’m having trouble getting the trim tab anodes off. A 6mm allen key and copious amounts of Kroil don’t provide enough leverage to loosen the bolt. I’m afraid of stripping the bolt head if I use a breaker bar. Any suggestions?

Assuming you're trim tabs use the usual 3" round ones the new ones should come with new bolts and nuts. That being the case just use any brute force (or saw) necessary.
