The 2020 SW Florida Rendezvous is in the books. It was a terrific gathering planned and executed by Mike and Jess Rizzo assisted by a variety of other Tugnutters. The whole operation is a well-oiled machine from arrival, to food, to activities.

Windy weather had many attendees arrive a couple days early (my wife and I did). Several people cancelled because of the windy weather and poor cruising conditions. About 25 Ranger Tugs and Cutwaters made it.

Temperatures were all over the map. The wind was a near constant. The only rain, heavy as hell, came in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Frequent Tugnuts contributor Brian Brown delivered two well-done seminars, one on proper boat propping and one on electrical systems. One attendee got a real lesson on the R27 electrical system when an Automatic Charging Relay (ACR) on his boat fried itself during his cruise to the rendezvous. That’s a thread for another time.

There was a lot of boat visiting and socializing. Sunday morning saw the arrival of volunteers to do Vessel Safety Checks and many owners took advantage of them and were awarded stickers signifying a satisfactory inspection.

Fluid Motion sent Kevin Lamont and he was a hit, but he spent a lot of time laying down on the job:

Kevin never stopped moving from boat to boat for a couple of days dealing with one issue after another and answering owners’ questions. He is a great ambassador for the company.

I'm in full agreement with Bill. A great Job done by Jess and Mike Rizzo. I assume there is a great deal of preplanning before the event, organizing and set up during the event and post follow up's after event. From start to finish it was well done.
