How do you clean your lines / ropes?

Our Cyclone (Dyneema) pendants look like new so I have just given them a good rinse in a large bucket with some mild detergent and rinsed them. They are now hanging to dry.

But...the three strand nylon pendant has a lot of green algae material on it.

What have you found, either practice(s) or product(s) that clean up ropes without causing any damage to them? And has anyone found a product to soak/treat the ropes with to maybe help them from accumulating algae - maybe 303 Spray Protectant?

I have for years simply laundered all line - dock lines, sheets (when I sailed) etc in the washing machine. Use detergent and some fabric softener; but you might tie them into bundles as they will tangle. The result is impressive.

Put them in a pillow case or some kind of bag to prevent them from tangling.
