I find that as I get older and contemplate downsizing my boat, a hardtop express style boat is attractive for entertaining friends for the day while still offering amenities for overnight or even longer use. Looking over the current Cutwater models, I found the C302 Sport Coupe to be very much the style and layout I have in mind (although replacing the dinette with seating along the cabin side would be a nice variation), only too big. My aim is for a boat under 30'. While I like the Ranger Tug R27 OB and R29S, I can't help think that a sport coupe version of the C28 would be the perfect size and layout. Has Cutwater thought about making a Sport Coupe version of the C28? And have you considered putting more continuous L-shaped seating along the transom and on one side of the cockpit with more comfortable cushions to provide a more inviting place to lounge while under way or when moored? I realize access to the storage space below the cockpit floor would be an issue, but I would think Cutwater could come up with an innovative solution. Thanks.

I think that boat would sell well.
I like the fact that the cut28 is still a diesel option in a largely outboard range of boats now. but a twin outboard c28 with more sofa style seating in the cockpit (thats removable for fishing) with the same interior option would be very attractive

Hi Guys, Dan Sadler here with Cutwater Boats.
Thanks for the interest and question if we are going to build a 28' Cutwater Coupe and Sport Coupe with outboard power. Short answer is not any time in the near future. The topic has come up and as you can see with both brands, we have moved in the direction of offering more outboard powered boats for a new and some old consumers. That being said the outboards are not for everyone, we still feel inboard diesel powered boats are preferred for many boating applications. Thanks
