Any solution for discolored thru hull?

One of the four thru hulls on the starboard side at the water line of my R25 has become discolored and/or has lost the chrome plating on its plastic fitting. I'm not sure why it is different than the other 3 being SST. Have others had the same problem and what was done about it? I have an access hole under the cabinets that I can touch the fitting with one hand, but actually removing and replacing the fitting seems like it would be quite difficult especially trying to remove the hose from the fitting. The seemingly shiny chrome paints do not look anywhere close to the spray can top when applied so that won't work. Has anyone else dealt with this?

The visible part of the thru hull is a stainless cover. One of mine popped off once, fortunately while in the garage. I glued it back in place with 5200.

Perhaps you can contact the manufacturer (Seafit?) to get a replacement cover. If not then buy a new thru hull and use just the cap instead of going to the trouble of replacing the thru hull.

I did not know that - thanks!
